Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state to have joined the United States, having received statehood on August 21, 1959. Hawaii is the only U.S. state located in Oceania, the only U.S. state located outside North America, and the only one composed entirely of islands. It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian archipelago, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km). At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight main islands are—in order from northwest to southeast: Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Maui, and the Island of Hawaiʻi. The last is the largest island in the group; it is often called the "Big Island" or "Hawaiʻi Island" to avoid confusion with the state or archipelago. The archipelago is physiographically and ethnologically part of the Polynesian subregion of Oceania. Hawaii's diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, abundance of public beaches, oceanic surroundings, and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists. Because of its central location in the Pacific and 19th-century labor migration, Hawaii's culture is strongly influenced by North American and East Asian cultures, in addition to its indigenous Hawaiian culture. Hawaii has over a million permanent residents, along with many visitors and U.S. military personnel. Its capital is Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu. Hawaii is the 8th-smallest and the 11th-least populous, but the 13th-most densely populated of the 50 U.S. states. It is the only state with an Asian plurality. The state's oceanic coastline is about 750 miles (1,210 km) long, the fourth longest in the U.S. after the coastlines of Alaska, Florida, and California.

Hawaii in English Hawaiian is the most recent state of the 50 US states. It is admitted as US state in the year 1959. The uniqueness of the state you can easily identify on the given map of Hawaii state US i.e. Hawaii is the only state that entirely located in the Pacific Ocean or in other words, it is only island state of the US.

Eight main islands-Hawaii, Kahoolawe, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau. The Hawaii state US has many features of tourists’ interests including warm tropical climate, active volcanoes, vivid native culture, and other natural beauty. So the place is not the place of interest for the tourists but also researchers, students, and scientists.

As you can see on the given Hawaiian state map US that the state comprises of almost the entire volcanic Hawaiian Island chain, which consists of hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles. On he given Hawaii map, you can identify some of the major Hawaiian Islands including Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lānai, Kahoolawe, Maui, and Hawaii. However, the last one i.e. Hawaii is by far the largest and more often known as "The Big Island" with the purpose to avoid confusion with the state as a whole.

Pearl Harbor is a can't-miss attraction for any family -- particularly families with teens. Prepare to spend a half- or full-day at this Oahu attraction, where you can visit the historic monuments, memorials and battleships - including the powerful USS Arizona Memorial.

The US State Hawaii occupies 16,634 m², about 0,18 % of the total territory of the USA of 9,148,020 m². The total population of the US State Hawaii with 1,427,538 inhabitants (in 2017) has already increased by 17,83 % in this millennium. Almost 40 years ago there were 462,847 fewer people. The capital Honolulu alone has 351,024 inhabitants.

Honolulu has the only royal palace in the U.S. The Iolani Palace was the official residence for the Hawaiian monarchs who lived on the estate before Queen Lili'uokalani was overthrown in 1891. According to the 2010 Census, Honolulu has more than 337,000 residents.

The Hawaiian islands were formed by volcanic activity initiated at an undersea magma source called the Hawaii hotspot. The process is continuing to build islands; the tectonic plate beneath much of the Pacific Ocean continually moves northwest and the hot spot remains stationary, slowly creating new volcanoes. Because of the hotspot's location, all currently active land volcanoes are located on the southern half of Hawaii Island. The newest volcano, Lōʻihi Seamount, is located south of the coast of Hawaii Island. Because the islands of Hawaii are distant from other land habitats, life is thought to have arrived there by wind, waves (i.e. by ocean currents) and wings (i.e. birds, insects, and any seeds they may have carried on their feathers). This isolation, in combination with the diverse environment (including extreme altitudes, tropical climates, and arid shorelines), allowed for the evolution of new endemic flora and fauna. Hawaii has more endangered species and has lost a higher percentage of its endemic species than any other U.S. state. The extant main islands of the archipelago have been above the surface of the ocean for fewer than 10 million years; a fraction of the time biological colonization and evolution have occurred there. The islands are well known for the environmental diversity that occurs on high mountains within a trade winds field. On a single island, the climate around the coasts can range from dry tropical (less than 20 inches or 510 millimeters annual rainfall) to wet tropical; on the slopes, environments range from tropical rainforest (more than 200 inches or 5,100 millimeters per year), through a temperate climate, to alpine conditions with a cold, dry climate. The rainy climate impacts soil development, which largely determines ground permeability, affecting the distribution of streams and wetlands.

Hawaii is known under different nicknames; aka Tano y Chamorro (Land of the Chamorro), or Hub of the Pacific, or Gateway to Micronesia and detailed official information about Hawaii can be found on the homepage at www.hawaii.gov.

The Air Quality index is in Hawaii = 72.9. These Air Quality index is based on annual reports from the EPA. Higher values are better (100=best). The number of ozone alert days is used as an indicator of air quality, as are the amounts of seven pollutants including particulates, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, lead, and volatile organic chemicals. The Water Quality Index is 57. A measure of the quality of an area’s water supply as rated by the EPA. Higher values are better (100=best). The EPA has a complex method of measuring the watershed quality, using 15 indicators such as pollutants, turbidity, sediments, and toxic discharges. The Superfund Sites Index is 94. Higher is better (100=best). Based upon the number and impact of EPA Superfund pollution sites in the county, including spending on the cleanup efforts. The UV Index in Hawaii = 9.7 and is a measure of an area's exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays. This is most often a combination of sunny weather, altitude, and latitude. The UV Index has been defined by the WHO (www.who.int/news-room/questions-and-answers/item/radiation-the-ultraviolet-(uv)-index) and is uniform worldwide.

The annual rainfall in Hawaii = 53.9 inches and the annual snowfall = 0 inches. The annual number of days with measurable precipitation (over .01 inch) = 166. The average number of days per year that are predominantly sunny = 240. 82 degrees Fahrenheit is the average daily high temperature for the month of July and 63.4 degrees Fahrenheit is the average daily low temperature for the month of January. The Comfort Index (higher=better) is 49, where higher values mean a more pleasant climate. The Comfort Index measure recognizes that humidity by itself isn't the problem. (Have you noticed nobody ever complains about the weather being 'cold and humid?) It's in the summertime that we notice the humidity the most, when it's hot and muggy. Our Comfort Index uses a combination of afternoon summer temperature and humidity to closely predict the effect that the humidity will have on people.

The most recent state population of 1,455,271 individuals with a median age of 38.3 age the population grows by 7.07% in Hawaii population since 2000 and are distributed over a density of 221/sq mi (82.6/km²) - residents per square mile of area.. The percentage of housing units in Hawaii which are owned by the occupant = 49.80%. A housing unit is a house, apartment, mobile home, or room occupied as separate living quarters. The average age of homes = 31 years with median home cost = $422,140 and home appreciation of -5.25%. This is the value of the years most recent home sales data. Its important to note that this is not the average (or arithmetic mean). The median home price is the middle value when you arrange all the sales prices of homes from lowest to highest. This is a better indicator than the average, because the median is not changed as much by a few unusually high or low values. The property tax rate of $2.81 shown here is the rate per $1,000 of home value. If for simplification for example the tax rate is $14.00 and the home value is $250,000, the property tax would be $14.00 x ($250,000/1000), or $3500. This is the 'effective' tax rate.
